Who We Are

Boxed Ape (Alistair Kerley and Frankie Harper) are an Ivor Novello nominated, multi-award winning London based composer duo specialising in music for video games and moving image.

Known for their distinctive approach to both interactive and linear storytelling, they have established a reputation for delivering compelling and versatile musical experiences through memorable themes and progressive sound design. Their compositions draw from extensive experience in scoring large-scale hybrid orchestral scores for major AAA titles, as well as creating custom soundtracks for boutique indie projects.

Their recent work includes scoring Horizon Call of the Mountain (2023), Firesprite & Guerrilla’s BAFTA nominated launch title for the PSVR2 which went on to win both a Golden Joystick and D.I.C.E awards, The Casting of Frank Stone (2024) with Supermassive and Behaviour, their score for which has received an Ivor Novello Award nomination (Best Score to a Video Game - 2025), Revolution Software’s Beyond a Steel Sky (2020) and The Bearded Ladies’ Corruption 2029 (2020) followed by Miasma Chronicles (2023). They are currently working on the much anticipated Little Nightmares III, which was awarded Gamescom 2024 - Best Audio ahead of it’s release in 2025.

Their music has also been widely featured on television, with placements on BBC, ITV, Channel 4, E!, Discovery+, Netflix and Amazon Prime, winning them a Production Music Award in 2024.
